Ensure Psychotherapy is a Lawful Option for Children Experiencing Sex-Related Distress

Problem:

Gender activists often insist there is only one legitimate and viable path to treat children experiencing sex-related distress: immediately prescribe puberty blockers, quickly followed by cross-sex hormone interventions, and ultimately culminating with intensive surgery where healthy body parts are amputated or dismembered to achieve a fake physical appearance associated with the opposite sex. But this is not true.

– Many children experiencing sex-related distress present with a host of significant mental health issues requiring proper care and treatment by qualified mental health professionals.
– Shamefully, gender activists have in many places successfully convinced lawmakers that treatment by mental health professionals, including but not limited to psychotherapy, constitutes the equivalent of child abuse and therefore have managed to get such treatment banned.

Solution:

– If your state bans psychotherapy or other forms of mental health counseling for children experiencing sex-related distress, repeal any such law.
– If your state does not have such a ban, be proactive and pass a bill that cements the natural and inherent rights of parents or legal guardians to pursue psychotherapy and other forms of mental health counseling for their children.

Why this works:

The health and well-being of children experiencing sex-related distress must always be paramount. – Every medical practitioner is professionally obligated to conduct a thorough exploration of possible causes or sources of each child’s distress, which, in practice, often means a comprehensive mental health evaluation.

– There must never be a legal presumption that psychotherapy and mental health counseling inherently constitute child abuse, have no value, or serve no purpose.
– Such a perspective denigrates the entire fields of psychiatry, clinical psychology, and professional counseling.
– Those who seek to ban or bypass any mental health evaluation for a child experiencing sex-related distress are not focused on the health and well-being of the child; they are focused on advancing their own personal agenda, which we know to be compelled societal acceptance of their radical gender ideology.
